What it does
Hard bid-change caps
Set a maximum % change per bid adjustment (e.g. never move a bid more than 15% in a single action). The system physically cannot exceed this.
Daily budget guardrails
Cap how much the system can increase or decrease a daily budget in any 24-hour window. Prevents runaway spend from rule misfires.
Keyword blacklists & whitelists
Define keywords the system must never touch (blacklist) or must always protect from pausing (whitelist). Honoured unconditionally.
Approval workflow
Switch any campaign to 'Approval Mode': the system generates recommendations but takes zero action until you click Approve. Perfect for onboarding or high-stakes campaigns.
Immutable audit log
Every automated action is written to an append-only log. You can see exactly what changed, when, why (the rule that triggered it), and what the values were before.
One-click rollback
Spotted a bad batch of changes? Roll back any single action or an entire day's automation in one click. Values are restored exactly as they were.
Change frequency limits
Limit how often a rule can fire for the same keyword or campaign (e.g. at most once per 7 days). Prevents rapid oscillation.
Anomaly alerts
If spend or ACOS moves outside a threshold you define, WiseROAS sends you an alert before the next automation cycle runs.

Configure your limits
During onboarding, you set hard limits for bid change %, budget change %, blacklisted keywords, and minimum bid floors. These are locked in before automation starts.
Automation runs within your envelope
Every automated action is checked against your guardrail configuration before execution. If an action would violate a limit, it's skipped and logged as 'blocked by guardrail'.
Review, audit, and rollback at any time
The audit log is always available in your dashboard. Filter by campaign, date range, or rule type. Rollback any entry with a single click.

Guardrails aren't soft warnings — they're enforced checks that block any action violating your limits before it reaches the platform API.
Approval mode for sensitive campaigns
Enable Approval Mode on any campaign to require manual sign-off before any change goes live. Switch back to Autopilot at any time.
Rollback is always available
There is no 'undo window'. Rollback is available for every logged action regardless of how much time has passed.
Audit log is append-only
The audit log cannot be edited or deleted — by anyone, including WiseROAS staff. It is a permanent, tamper-proof record of every automated action.
FAQ
Common questions
Can I set different guardrail limits per campaign?
Yes. Guardrail configurations can be set at the account level (default) and overridden at the campaign or ad group level for more granular control.
What happens if a guardrail blocks an action that would have been beneficial?
The blocked action is logged with its trigger condition and the guardrail that blocked it. You can review these and decide if you want to loosen the limit for that campaign.
Is the audit log available to export?
Yes. You can export the full audit log as CSV at any time from the dashboard. Useful for agency reporting or internal compliance requirements.
